How Monimoto Works

First, pair the Monimoto unit and the key fob with the smartphone app. Once paired, the tracker is hidden somewhere on the ATV, and the key fob stays with the owner.

The detection logic works like this: the tracker continuously monitors for movement. When movement is detected, it checks whether the paired key fob is nearby. If the key fob isn’t detected – meaning the owner isn’t the one moving the vehicle – Monimoto enters Alarm mode:

  • While the ATV keeps moving, the app receives location updates every 5 minutes.
  • If movement stops, the owner gets a notification that the movement has ended and the alarm is cancelled.
  • Roughly 30 minutes after the alarm cancels, the owner receives one final location update.

Connectivity runs on LTE-M with fallback networks and Wi-Fi location. The tracker is wireless and battery-powered rather than hardwired into the ATV’s electrical system.
